Customs Anti-Smuggling Mobile Squad Attacked by Terrorists in Kohat; Sepoy Javed Khan Martyred

Attack Took Place During Routine Checking at New Toll Plaza Tunnel Kohat; One Official Injured; Funeral Prayer Held at Customs House Peshawar; Personnel Bravely Fought Back Despite Limited Resources

Peshawar (Special Correspondent): A Pakistan Customs official was martyred and another injured in an alleged terrorist attack on an anti-smuggling mobile squad at New Toll Plaza, Tunnel Kohat. According to officials, between 10 and 12 armed terrorists attacked the mobile squad at around midnight on July 24, 2026, during routine checking.

As a result of the attack, Customs Sepoy Javed Khan was martyred while serving the country in the line of duty. Another official, Sepoy Baseerullah, sustained minor injuries. According to officials, the injured official is out of danger, while the squad’s third member, Sepoy Humraz Bhatti, remained safe.

The funeral prayer of martyred Sepoy Javed Khan was offered with full official honours at Customs House Peshawar at 9:30 a.m. today. His body was subsequently transported to his native village for burial.

Officials said that despite limited resources and extremely difficult circumstances, the personnel of the anti-smuggling mobile squad fulfilled their duties and demonstrated exceptional bravery, courage, and professional skill. Following the attack, law enforcement agencies launched search and investigation operations in the area.
