DPO Mianwali says sports promote discipline, teamwork, tolerance, and positive thinking among youth

Daud Khel (Zia Niazi): “Defeat drugs, promote sports — this is the commitment for a strong and secure Pakistan.” Under this vision, the Mianwali Police Independence Cricket Festival 2026 continued with its third exciting and competitive match between the teams of Peer Pehai Police Station and Pai Khel Police Station at the Mochh Cricket Ground.

The match was attended as chief guest by District Police Officer (DPO) Mianwali Waqar Azim Kharl. On the occasion, he met with players from both teams, exchanged greetings, and encouraged them for demonstrating excellent sporting performance.

Addressing the participants, DPO Mianwali said that active participation of youth in sports activities is essential for building a healthy society. He stated that drugs are a social menace that can destroy the future of the younger generation, while sports promote discipline, teamwork, tolerance, and positive thinking among youth.

He reaffirmed that Mianwali Police will continue taking all possible measures to protect young people from the menace of drugs and encourage healthy and constructive activities.

On the occasion, a local citizen presented DPO Mianwali Waqar Azim Kharl with a beautifully hand-drawn sketch (portrait) as a gift. The DPO appreciated the artwork and praised the citizen’s artistic abilities.

Both teams displayed excellent performance, competitive spirit, and outstanding sportsmanship during the match. However, due to their impressive performance, the Pai Khel Police Station team emerged victorious.

The objective of the Independence Cricket Festival 2026 is to promote patriotism, unity, discipline, healthy activities among youth, and spread the national message of “Defeat Drugs, Promote Sports” so that young people can play a positive role in building a peaceful, strong, and secure Pakistan.
