Shahid Abbas Khattak directs timely completion of event preparations, cleanliness measures, canal desilting, and monsoon preparedness
Daud Khel (Zia Niazi): Deputy Commissioner Mianwali Shahid Abbas Khattak visited different areas of Mianwali city and reviewed various ongoing activities, including preparations for Independence Day celebrations, cleanliness arrangements, canal desilting work, and monsoon preparedness measures.
According to details, the Deputy Commissioner visited Mianwali Stadium and reviewed arrangements for the musical night being organized as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
During the visit, he directed the Chief Officer Municipal Committee (CO MC) and officials of Suthra Punjab to ensure that all arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations at the stadium are completed within the given timeframe.
He instructed authorities to ensure cleanliness inside the stadium and remove all bushes around the outer areas of the stadium while maintaining proper sanitation in the surrounding vicinity.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited Shaheen Town and reviewed the desilting work of 1-R Canal being carried out by the Irrigation Department. He directed the Executive Engineer (XEN) Irrigation to ensure complete desilting and cleaning of the canal.
On the occasion, he also issued strict directions to WASA officials to remain fully alert during the monsoon season due to the possibility of heavy rainfall and ensure immediate drainage of rainwater from the city in case of any emergency.
The visit was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Majid Bin Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Mianwali Faisal Imran, Deputy Director Development Shoaib Raza Khan, Chief Officer Municipal Committee Mianwali Mubashir Kaleem Gul, XEN Irrigation Muhammad Naveed Malik, District Manager Suthra Punjab Syed Murtaza, and other relevant officers.
