Dawoodkhel (from Zia Niazi): On Sunday, Deputy Commissioner Shahid Abbas Kathia, accompanied by the relevant officers, visited Muhammad Sharif Wali, an area near Mochh.

During the visit, he inspected the protective bund along the Indus River and flood relief camps and conducted a detailed review of relief activities. Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Muhammad Shahid Khokhar, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Majid Bin Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Mianwali Salman Qayyum Sheikh, and officers of other relevant departments were also present.

During a briefing, the ADC Revenue informed the Deputy Commissioner that there was no breach in the protective bund at Muhammad Sharif Wali. However, a new temporary bund was also being constructed at a distance adjacent to the old bund to protect the population of Muhammad Sharif Wali from flooding.

The Deputy Commissioner also met with local residents and listened to their problems. On the occasion, he said that the district administration was making every possible effort to protect the local population from floods. He appealed to the residents of Muhammad Sharif Wali to cooperate with the administration and temporarily relocate to a safe place.

The DC further said that relief activities by rescue teams were continuing in flood-affected areas of the Kacha region. He directed rescue teams and officers and staff of other relevant departments to remain alert 24 hours a day to deal with any emergency situation.

Later, Deputy Commissioner Shahid Abbas Kathia also inspected the emergency flood relief camps established at Government Elementary School Khan Muhammad Wala, Government Higher Secondary School Mochh, and Government High School Rokhri, and reviewed the facilities being provided there.

He directed the staff of the flood relief camps to remain fully alert according to the duty roster.
