Dhoke Chaudhrian Residents Hold Strong Protest Against Transfer of Water Supply to Another Area; Protest Ends After Assurance by MD WASA

Rawalpindi (Report: Special Correspondent)

A large number of residents of UC-81 Dhoke Chaudhrian, Rawalpindi, staged a strong protest outside the WASA Monitoring Office in Liaquatabad against the provision of a water connection from their area to Wilayat Homes. The protest demonstration was led by former Chairman Chaudhry Asif, Saqib Satti, former Councillor Mansoor Satti, Chaudhry Yasir Jamal, Muhammad Nadir, and Javed Mir Khan.

The residents maintained that Dhoke Chaudhrian is already facing a severe shortage of water, and under such circumstances, providing a connection from their area’s water supply to another locality is completely unjust.

Successful Negotiations with MD WASA and Formation of a Committee

During the protest, a delegation of local residents, led by former Chairman Chaudhry Asif, met with the MD WASA and presented their demands. Taking immediate notice of the public complaints, the MD WASA constituted a committee in writing.
