Special Court for Control of Narcotics Rawalpindi Announces Verdict; Fines Also Imposed on Both Convicts

RAWALPINDI (Court Reporter): The Special Court for Control of Narcotics Rawalpindi has sentenced two female accused to nine years in prison each after finding them guilty in a Dubai hashish smuggling case.

The court also imposed the prescribed fines on both convicts. In case of non-payment, they will have to undergo additional imprisonment.

According to the prosecution, both women were found involved in an attempt to smuggle hashish to Dubai. On the basis of evidence and witness statements, the court found them guilty and announced their sentences. The case was prosecuted by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).

In its verdict, the court observed that drug smuggling was a serious offence and that strict action in accordance with the law was essential to combat it.
