Large piles of garbage near the Girls Degree College and CPEC Underpass have become a serious problem for the public. People passing through the road are facing severe difficulty due to the unbearable smell, making it difficult to travel through the area.

Citizens have criticized the officials of Suthra Punjab, saying that they appear unaware of the situation. They alleged that instead of making Punjab clean, garbage heaps have become the fate of the public, while the cleanliness system has failed to deliver.

The garbage dumps near the CPEC Underpass, adjacent to Girls Degree College on Canal Colony Road, have made life miserable for residents and commuters. Whether people are travelling on the CPEC route or the Canal Colony Road, they are forced to endure the foul smell coming from the accumulated waste.

Residents said that huge piles of garbage have been lying along the roadside for a long time. Female students coming to the Girls Degree College are also facing serious difficulties while reaching the college due to the poor sanitation conditions.

They further complained that the machinery of Suthra Punjab is nowhere to be seen in the area. They also alleged that employees of Suthra Punjab in Daudkhel, who report for duty early in the morning, have not received their salaries for the last two months.

They claimed that the announcement of a special reward for employees on the occasion of Eid also proved to be a false promise. They alleged that workers were temporarily given a small amount of money as a consolation, while the issue of their salaries remains unresolved.

With only a few days left until the next salary date, citizens have appealed to Deputy Commissioner Mianwali Shahid Abbas Kathia to take immediate notice of the situation and ensure the removal of garbage and resolution of the employees’ salary issues.
