ICCI Establishes Standing Committee on Alternative Energy

Mahmoon Shafqat Appointed Chairman, Asif Javed Nominated as Committee Member

Islamabad (News Reporter) – The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has established a Standing Committee on Alternative Energy, with Mahmoon Shafqat nominated as Chairman of the committee.

The first meeting of the committee was attended by Chairman Mahmoon Shafqat, Chairman of the Pakistan Alternative Energy Association Asif Javed, Tahir Alvi, Waheed Akram, Naqash Ahmed, Noor Badshah, Nadir Rabbani, Irfan Chaudhry, Ansar Sahib, Ateeq Gondal, Chaudhry Khalid, Zulqarnain Abbasi, and other members.

The meeting was chaired by ICCI Vice President Irfan Chaudhry, while ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mahmood later joined the session.

The primary objective of the meeting was to discuss in detail the resolution of key issues facing the solar energy industry, formulate recommendations regarding the federal budget, and explore matters related to effective coordination and collaboration with government institutions through the ICCI platform.

Participants emphasized that the development of the alternative energy sector, resolution of challenges faced by the solar industry, and stronger engagement with government stakeholders could significantly promote investment and business activities in the sector.

The meeting also reached consensus on future strategies and practical recommendations aimed at supporting the growth and sustainability of the alternative energy industry.
