An important meeting regarding security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram was held under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The meeting reviewed the implementation of a foolproof security plan through the use of modern technology, effective coordination, traffic management, and timely response mechanisms.
According to details, the meeting was convened to ensure comprehensive security arrangements during Muharram-ul-Haram. It was attended by the DIG Headquarters, DIG Islamabad, DIG Security, and other senior police officers.
During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted of the security measures being implemented for Muharram processions, religious gatherings (Majalis), and other religious events. IGP Islamabad directed officers to further strengthen security measures through the use of advanced technology, effective inter-agency coordination, and prompt response systems to provide citizens with a safe, peaceful, and convenient environment.
IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi stated that maintaining law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram remains the top priority of Islamabad Police. He instructed all concerned officers to make extraordinary security arrangements at sensitive locations, procession routes, and venues of religious gatherings, while utilizing all available resources.
The meeting also reviewed a comprehensive strategy regarding traffic management plans, emergency response mechanisms, public facilitation measures, and effective coordination among various departments. It was decided that all relevant units would remain fully active around the clock to ensure the security and convenience of citizens during Muharram-ul-Haram.
The IGP further directed all officers to remain present in the field, continuously monitor security arrangements, and ensure immediate and effective action in case of any emergency situation so that a peaceful and secure environment can be maintained throughout Muharram-ul-Haram.
