Islamabad (Crime Reporter): Islamabad Traffic Police has continued its crackdown against illegal parking at shopping malls, commercial centres, markets and major roads across the federal capital. Strict action has been taken against vehicles found violating parking regulations without any discrimination.
According to details, special measures have been initiated on the directives of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to maintain smooth traffic flow, further improve the traffic management system and ensure implementation of traffic laws in the capital.
As part of these measures, Islamabad Traffic Police is continuing indiscriminate action against drivers violating no-parking rules and illegally parking vehicles on footpaths.
The Islamabad Traffic Police has formed special teams to continue the crackdown against illegal parking at shopping malls, markets, commercial centres and major highways in the federal capital.
Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad Kainat Azhar Khan issued special instructions to all zonal DSPs, directing them to ensure strict enforcement of traffic laws to reduce violations in Islamabad. She said action against elements disrupting traffic flow, particularly those affecting road discipline, should be further strengthened and made more effective.
She further said that parking should only be allowed in designated parking areas at commercial centres and no leniency should be shown towards those violating no-parking regulations.
She emphasised that footpaths are the right of pedestrians and no parking or obstruction on footpaths would be tolerated.
She said citizens visiting commercial centres would be provided with all possible facilities and appealed to the public to follow the law and cooperate with Islamabad Police so that an organised traffic system could be maintained in the city.
