ISLAMABAD (News Reporter) – The Charge d’Affaires of the Kyrgyz Embassy met with Atif Ikram Sheikh, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), at the FPCCI President Secretariat in Islamabad. The meeting focused on enhancing trade and economic relations between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan, investment, and promoting direct links between the business communities of both countries. Atif Ikram Sheikh expressed satisfaction over the increase in high-level coordination between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan, stating that the visit of the Pakistani business community to Kyrgyzstan through the FPCCI platform would be significant for boosting bilateral trade. The discussion also included the establishment of a Joint Business Council to enhance trade between the two countries, with an agreement to expedite necessary measures from both sides. Sheikh praised the activities and functionality of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) under Kyrgyz leadership, noting that the upcoming meeting of SCO heads of government in Kyrgyzstan represents important progress. He emphasized that the SCO platform is an effective means to enhance trade and economic ties among member countries, including Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan. The Kyrgyz Charge d’Affaires expressed a desire to further strengthen trade and economic relations between the two countries, highlighting the need to increase direct links between their business communities, while pointing out the vast opportunities for trade and investment that exist between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan. He stated that the establishment of a Joint Business Council would further strengthen the ties between traders and industrialists of both nations.
