Islamabad (Izhar Khan Niazi) – A special meeting was held at the Passport and Immigration Headquarters under the chairmanship of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, during which several important decisions were made regarding reforms in the passport system.
The meeting made a principled decision to completely shift passport issuance to e-passports. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that the full transition to e-passports would eliminate fraud and forgery related to passports and make the system more transparent and secure.

During the briefing, it was informed that preliminary work for both domestic and international home delivery of passports has been completed, and the process of delivering passports directly to citizens at their doorsteps will be launched soon.
The meeting further decided that a cashless system will be implemented in passport offices across the country from July 1. In addition, online passport applications will be shifted to the Pak ID platform to provide citizens with modern and convenient services.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi directed that the policy regarding business passports should be finalized as soon as possible in consultation with the FBR so that better facilities can be provided to the business community.
