Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij Seek to Destabilize Balochistan; Nation Stands Shoulder to Shoulder with Pakistan’s Armed Forces Against Terrorism, Says Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani

Islamabad (Izhar Khan Niazi): Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani has said that promoting national unity and empowering the youth are essential to ensuring lasting peace, development, and prosperity in Balochistan. He said that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan’s armed forces in the fight against terrorism.

Addressing participants of the National Workshop Balochistan at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Friday, the Chairman Senate said that the President, Prime Minister, and Field Marshal had adopted a clear and unequivocal stance against terrorism. He said that Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij were seeking to destabilize Balochistan and had the backing of India.

Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani said that security forces had launched Operation Shaban against terrorists, while terrorist hideouts were being targeted through intelligence-based operations. He said that the enemy wanted to divide Pakistan; however, the entire nation was united and would foil every conspiracy.

The Chairman Senate said that since 2016, the National Workshop Balochistan had been bringing parliamentarians, bureaucrats, civil society representatives, youth, academics, and media representatives from across the country onto one platform to promote national harmony. According to him, the workshop was not merely a training programme but also a strong means of communication among different provinces, ideologies, and policymakers.

He said that Balochistan was a fundamental pillar of Pakistan’s national identity, economic future, and national security. The province’s geographical location, mineral resources, and coastal significance gave it exceptional importance in the region. However, the challenges faced in the fields of security, socio-economic development, and human development would have to be addressed realistically.

The Chairman Senate said that in recent terrorist attacks, the enemy was now targeting unarmed civilians instead of military targets, which was proof of its cowardice and failure. He expressed the resolve that the state would continue to utilize all available resources to eliminate terrorism and establish lasting peace in Balochistan.
