Islamabad (Izhar Khan Niazi) – Secretary of the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus (WPC) and Member of the National Assembly Dr. Shahida Rehmani, along with Chairperson of the Special Committee on Gender Mainstreaming and Member of the National Assembly Dr. Nafisa Shah, visited the Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad to express deep sorrow and condolences on the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati, a member of the Royal Family of Thailand.
The two parliamentarians recorded their messages in the condolence book opened at the embassy and conveyed their heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the Royal Family, the Government of Thailand, and the people of Thailand.
On the occasion, Dr. Shahida Rehmani paid tribute to the late Princess for her public service and said that she had played a significant role in promoting women’s rights, social justice, and public welfare. She stated that the Princess’s contributions toward women’s empowerment and the promotion of human dignity would continue to serve as a guiding light for future generations.
Dr. Nafisa Shah also expressed profound grief and sorrow over the Princess’s passing and said that the late Princess had made important contributions to social development and various initiatives aimed at empowering women. She expressed solidarity with the people of Thailand and prayed for the elevation of the Princess’s ranks.
It was stated on the occasion that the visit reflects the strong and longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and Thailand and reaffirms the commitment of Pakistani women parliamentarians to further strengthen bilateral relations and mutual cooperation between the two countries.
The Women’s Parliamentary Caucus extended its heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family and the people of Thailand, stating that they share in the grief of losing a dignified personality whose life was dedicated to public service and whose contributions and legacy will be remembered for generations to come.
