Religious scholar urges Muslims to uphold patience, forgiveness, and ethical conduct, expressing concern over the growing culture of abusive discourse on social media

Rawalpindi (City Reporter): Patron-in-Chief of Idara Taleemat-e-Islamia, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, Rawalpindi, Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Shah, has said that patience, gratitude, and good moral character are among the core teachings of Islam, adding that a true believer remains steadfast in times of hardship and expresses gratitude during times of ease.

Addressing a religious and intellectual gathering at Idara Taleemat-e-Islamia, Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Shah said that Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) set exemplary standards of forgiveness, mercy, tolerance, and compassion during the occasions of the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah and the Conquest of Makkah, providing a timeless model for Muslims to follow.

The gathering was hosted by Allama Sheikh Muhammad Qasim and attended by a large number of religious scholars.

Speaking on the occasion, Allama Shah emphasized that despite differences of opinion, the use of abusive language, ridicule, and character assassination is contrary to Islamic teachings. He expressed concern over the increasing trend of offensive behavior on social media, urging people to stand firmly for the truth while ensuring that their speech and conduct remain respectful and dignified.

Highlighting the scholarly and spiritual stature of Hazrat Ali (May Allah Be Pleased With Him), he said that true spiritual growth is achieved through patience, remembrance of Allah, self-purification, and good character. He also encouraged the audience to draw lessons of perseverance, steadfastness, and patience from the tragedy of Karbala.

The gathering concluded with special prayers for the peace and prosperity of Pakistan, unity of the Muslim Ummah, and the promotion and practice of Islamic teachings.
