Rawalpindi (Syed Shahid Waheed Hashmi): A dignified ceremony was held at Police Lines Headquarters Rawalpindi on the occasion of Police Martyrs Day, where families of Rawalpindi Police martyrs were specially invited. The event was attended by Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi, City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi, senior police officers, and families of the martyrs.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the RPO and CPO Rawalpindi visited the Martyrs’ Memorial, laid floral wreaths, and offered special prayers for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs, the security of the country, and peace across the nation. A well-disciplined police contingent also presented a guard of honour in tribute to the martyrs.
Later, the RPO and CPO met with the families of the martyrs, inquired about their well-being, showed affection towards their children, and spent time with them. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the officers had lunch with the martyrs’ families, while gifts were also distributed among the children.
Addressing the ceremony, CPO Rawalpindi said that 122 martyrs of Rawalpindi Police set an unforgettable example of dedication and bravery by sacrificing their lives for the peace of the country, protection of citizens, and the fight against crime.
He said that the families of martyrs remain the top priority of Rawalpindi Police and assured them that the department would continue to care for them just as it cares for its own families.
The RPO Rawalpindi stated that police martyrs are the pride of the nation and a source of inspiration. He said their unparalleled sacrifices will always be remembered, and the families of martyrs hold great respect and honor for the department. He assured that all possible support and assistance would continue to be provided to them.
He prayed that Allah Almighty grants all police personnel the same spirit of courage, dedication, and sincerity demonstrated by the martyrs in defending the country, serving the public, and eliminating crime.
