


Rawalpindi (News Reporter) Following the directives of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General of Rawalpindi Development Authority, Salman Ghani, comprehensive dengue control and surveillance activities are ongoing in areas under RDA’s jurisdiction to effectively prevent and mitigate dengue. In this regard, a field inspection was conducted under the supervision of Additional Director General RDA, Masood Ahmed Bukhari, aimed at reviewing the ongoing dengue control activities and ensuring their effective implementation in the field. During the field inspection, comprehensive dengue control activities, including indoor and outdoor operations, were reviewed and verified in two private housing schemes, Bahria Town and Gulrez Housing Scheme. A detailed assessment of the quality, effectiveness, and compliance with established SOPs of the dengue control activities was also conducted. The deployment, attendance, and performance of field teams conducting daily activities in dengue surveillance and housing schemes were reviewed. The purpose of the inspection was to ensure effective implementation of dengue prevention measures and strict adherence to established SOPs. Additional Director General RDA Masood Ahmed Bukhari emphasized the importance of regular surveillance, effective presence of field teams, and strict enforcement of dengue control measures in private housing schemes to prevent the spread of dengue and ensure public health safety. The inspection was also attended by the Deputy Director Planning, Assistant Director Building Control, and building inspectors from the relevant zones. RDA will continue regular monitoring and field inspections to ensure effective execution of dengue control activities and compliance with established SOPs. The relevant field team has been instructed to remain vigilant in promptly identifying and eliminating potential breeding sites for dengue and to complete all safety measures in the designated areas in a timely manner.
