Rawalpindi (News Reporter)

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has intensified its crackdown against illegal housing schemes and issued a show-cause notice to the Chief Executive Officer of Veteran Enclave Limited.

The action was taken on the directives of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General RDA Engineer Amir Khattak.

According to an RDA spokesperson, Veteran Enclave Limited, located in Taxila, was found to be engaged in marketing, advertising, and selling plots through social media, online platforms, and other channels without obtaining legal approval from RDA. Taking serious notice of the violation, the authority issued a formal show-cause notice to the management concerned.

Director General RDA Engineer Amir Khattak has warned the public to remain cautious and avoid investing in illegal and unapproved housing schemes. He urged citizens to verify the legal status and RDA approval of any housing project before investing their hard-earned money, stating that some developers are falsely claiming to have obtained NOCs.

He further directed the sponsors and management of Veteran Enclave Limited to immediately stop all promotional and marketing activities related to the unapproved housing scheme and to approach RDA for obtaining the necessary NOC by fulfilling legal requirements. He warned that failure to comply would result in strict legal action.

According to the RDA spokesperson, letters regarding illegal housing schemes and misleading advertisements have also been sent to relevant institutions including the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Cyber Crime Wing Islamabad, Sui Northern Gas, District Collector Rawalpindi, and District Council Rawalpindi for necessary action.

The spokesperson added that the Director General RDA has instructed the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering Directorate to continue indiscriminate and effective operations against illegal and unauthorized housing schemes, commercial activities, booking offices, and encroachments to protect public interest and ensure enforcement of the law.
