Reduction of Petrol by Rs. 74 and Diesel by Rs. 67 Is a Historic Pro-People Initiative by the Prime Minister: Sardar Zahoor Iqbal

Fateh Jang (Waseem Ali) – Sardar Zahoor Iqbal, Chairman of Pakistan Business Forum Europe and a senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N), has welcomed the historic reduction of Rs. 74 in petrol prices and Rs. 67 in diesel prices announced by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, describing it as a people-friendly and pro-poor measure.

In a special statement, he said that such a large-scale reduction in petroleum product prices is clear evidence of the current government’s sincere efforts to relieve the public from the burden of inflation.

Sardar Zahoor Iqbal stated that by making an extraordinary reduction in petrol and diesel rates, the Prime Minister has provided substantial and genuine relief to the people, the positive and far-reaching effects of which will be felt across all sectors of the economy. Lower diesel and petrol prices will significantly reduce transportation and freight costs, resulting in a decrease in the prices of commonly used goods and providing direct benefits to salaried individuals and the middle-income class.

He further said that Pakistan Muslim League (N) has always remained committed to the agenda of economic recovery and public welfare. Overseas Pakistanis also view the current government’s economic relief package with appreciation.

Sardar Zahoor Iqbal expressed hope that following this bold decision by the government, the district administration and business community would play their key role in ensuring that the benefits of this relief reach the public directly by immediately reducing transportation fares and the prices of food and other essential commodities.
