Both sides reaffirm commitment to promoting women’s entrepreneurship, strengthening institutional collaboration, and advancing inclusive economic growth

Islamabad (Sardar Yousaf Khan): Founding President of the Sahiwal Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Humeira Bukhari, met with Misbah Khar, Adviser to the Chairman Senate of Pakistan and Ambassador of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference, in Islamabad on Friday.

During the meeting, the two discussed in detail the role of women-led businesses in Pakistan’s economy, the promotion of women’s entrepreneurship, institutional cooperation, and the creation of a business-friendly environment for women entrepreneurs.

On the occasion, Humeira Bukhari briefed Misbah Khar on the initiatives undertaken by the Sahiwal Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry to facilitate women entrepreneurs through business support services, professional training, capacity building, networking opportunities, and advocacy for women-friendly economic policies. She stated that the Chamber is actively working to empower women to play a meaningful role in the national economy by promoting innovation, enhancing skills, and supporting sustainable business development.

Appreciating the Chamber’s contributions, Misbah Khar said that women’s economic empowerment is essential for sustainable national development and inclusive economic stability. She emphasized that effective collaboration between organizations representing women entrepreneurs and government institutions is the need of the hour to address existing challenges and fully utilize the entrepreneurial potential of women.

She further stated that empowering women economically not only strengthens families and society but also makes a significant contribution to Pakistan’s overall economic growth and resilience.

Misbah Khar reaffirmed that under the leadership of Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, the Senate of Pakistan will continue extending full support for women’s empowerment, inclusive development, greater participation of women in decision-making, and the promotion of their role in economic activities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to continuing joint efforts aimed at enhancing women’s entrepreneurial capabilities, encouraging the exchange of experiences, and creating a more supportive and inclusive business environment for women across Pakistan.
