Islamabad (Special Correspondent): Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu, Minister of Labour and Social Security of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), met with representatives of the Pakistani media in Islamabad on the sidelines of the Ninth Ministerial Conference on the Role of Women in the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
During the meeting, Minister Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu explained the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ position on the Cyprus issue, emphasizing the principles of sovereign equality and the equal international status of the Turkish Cypriot people. He stated that the people of the TRNC seek international recognition as a sovereign state and believe they should have the right to representation within the international community.
He highlighted the growing relations between the TRNC and Islamic countries and stressed the need to further strengthen cooperation with the Muslim world. The Minister appreciated Pakistan’s constructive and positive stance regarding the TRNC and also commended the positive role played by the Pakistani community residing in Northern Cyprus.
Minister Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu also shared his views on the current situation in the Middle East, stating that promoting dialogue and mutual cooperation among OIC member states is essential for ensuring peace, stability, and addressing common regional challenges.
The meeting provided an opportunity for Pakistani journalists and Minister Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu to engage in constructive and meaningful discussions on various issues of regional and international importance.
