The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its crackdown against drug trafficking around educational institutions and across various cities of Pakistan. During six separate operations, ANF arrested six suspects, including a woman, and recovered 100.01 kilograms of narcotics worth more than Rs. 8.2 million.
According to an ANF spokesperson, a suspect was arrested near Bahria Town Rawalpindi after 310 grams of Ice (crystal meth) was recovered from his vehicle. During interrogation, the accused admitted to supplying drugs to students of educational institutions.
In another operation at Bacha Khan International Airport, a passenger traveling to Jeddah was arrested after 970 grams of Ice was recovered from his shoes.
At Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore, a woman traveling to Bahrain was taken into custody after authorities recovered 30 capsules filled with Ice, weighing a total of 210 grams, from her stomach.
Meanwhile, ANF officials recovered 2.520 kilograms of Ice concealed inside a snooker table during the inspection of a parcel destined for Kuwait at a courier office located in Lahore’s Upper Mall area.
In another operation near Baleli, Quetta District, ANF recovered 84 kilograms of hashish from a vehicle and arrested the suspect involved. Additionally, two suspects were taken into custody near Murree Road, Islamabad, after 12 kilograms of hashish was recovered from their vehicle.
The ANF spokesperson stated that cases have been registered against all suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act 1997, and further investigations are underway.
