Court Also Imposes Rs 80,000 Fine

Due to effective investigation and successful prosecution by Rawalpindi Police, a court of competent jurisdiction has sentenced a drug trafficker to 9 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 80,000.
According to a police spokesperson, the convict Saqib was arrested by Gujjar Khan Police in September 2025. A total of 1.6 kilograms of hashish (charas) was recovered from his possession, after which a case was registered against him under the Anti-Narcotics Act.
During the investigation, police collected solid evidence, while investigation and legal teams ensured strong representation in court. Based on the evidence and witness statements, the court found the accused guilty and awarded him the sentence.
Upon the conviction, City Police Officer Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani appreciated the performance of the SSP Investigation, investigating officers, and the legal team. He stated that drug traffickers are a curse for society, and Rawalpindi Police is taking continuous action to eliminate such elements.
He further said that operations against lawbreakers will continue without discrimination in order to protect the younger generation from the harmful effects of drugs and to cleanse society from this menace.
