Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs Reviews Performance of the Prime Minister’s Public Affairs and Grievances Wing

18,590 Complaints Received in One Year, 92 Percent Resolved; Committee Stresses Timely Redressal of Public Grievances

Islamabad (Izhar Khan Niazi): A meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs was held at Parliament House under the chairmanship of MNA Rana Iradat Sharif Khan to review the performance of the Prime Minister’s Public Affairs and Grievances Wing (PM’s PA&GW).

The Secretary of Parliamentary Affairs briefed the committee that between July 1, 2025, and June 24, 2026, the Prime Minister’s Public Affairs and Grievances Wing received a total of 18,590 complaints. Of these, 17,104 complaints were resolved, resulting in a complaint resolution rate of 92 percent. The briefing further stated that the increase in the number of complaints compared to the previous year reflects growing public confidence in the Pakistan Citizen Portal and greater public awareness of the grievance redressal system.

The committee was informed that, to improve public accessibility and convenience, a nationwide awareness campaign had been launched and a dedicated short code, 1733, had been introduced for complaint registration. It was also noted that during the 2025 floods, special flood relief desks were established in the affected districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the grievances of flood victims were coordinated with the relevant authorities for prompt resolution.

Chairman of the Standing Committee, Rana Iradat Sharif Khan, appreciated the performance of the Prime Minister’s Public Affairs and Grievances Wing and emphasized that public complaints must be addressed in a timely, effective, and citizen-friendly manner. He stated that the true measure of the institution’s success lies in providing prompt relief to the public.
