Daud Khel (Zia Niazi): Mianwali Police have arrested a suspect accused of sexually assaulting a minor child following a police encounter, officials said on Wednesday.

According to police, the operation was conducted by SHO Kamar Mushani Waseem Akbar Khan Shahbaz Khel under the supervision of District Police Officer (DPO) Mianwali Waqar Azeem Kharral.

Police said that a few days ago, allegations surfaced against a suspect identified as Shifaullah, accusing him of sexually assaulting a minor child and allegedly recording and circulating a video of the incident on social media. Following the allegations, Mianwali Police immediately registered a criminal case and launched an investigation.

During the operation to apprehend the suspect, an exchange of fire reportedly took place between the suspect and the police. The suspect sustained injuries during the encounter and was subsequently taken into custody. Police said further legal proceedings and investigation are underway.

Residents of the area appreciated the prompt action taken by SHO Waseem Akbar Khan and the Mianwali Police, saying that those responsible for crimes against innocent children deserve no leniency and should be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
