Police Say Investigation Underway After Medical Examination; Suspect to Face Legal Proceedings
Sargodha (Bureau Report): Sargodha Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the alleged abduction and sexual assault of a six-year-old girl. The child was recovered safely during a police operation and shifted to a hospital, where she received medical care.
According to the district police spokesperson, the girl’s father, Asad Ali, a resident of Chak 72 South, reported his daughter missing at Bhagtanwala Police Station. During the investigation, police identified a 48-year-old relative, Tasawar, as a suspect after gathering initial evidence and intelligence.
Police said the suspect was traced through technical surveillance and arrested in the Bhagtanwala area. The child was recovered safely and immediately taken to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Bhagtanwala, for a medical examination.
According to police, the preliminary medical examination supported allegations of sexual assault. Authorities have registered the case and stated that further investigation is in progress to establish all facts surrounding the incident.
District Police Officer Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf said the investigation will be conducted fairly and in accordance with the law. He added that the police are committed to ensuring justice for the victim and that the suspect will face legal proceedings based on the evidence collected during the investigation.
The police have urged the public to refrain from speculation and allow the investigation to proceed through the legal process.
Islamabad (Izhar Khan Niazi): According to documents of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), a total of 39,786 citizens attempting to travel abroad from various international airports across the country were offloaded due to different reasons.
The documents revealed that the highest number of passengers, 20,408 individuals, were prevented from traveling due to incomplete required travel and legal documents.
According to FIA records, 12,673 passengers were offloaded because of low-profile or suspicious travel plans, while 3,450 individuals were not allowed to travel abroad due to being placed on the stop list.
The documents further stated that 505 passengers were stopped for adopting incorrect travel routes, while 281 travelers were offloaded for possessing fake or suspicious documents. Similarly, 176 individuals were prevented from traveling due to unsatisfactory travel history, while 145 passengers were stopped for further verification of their travel documents.
FIA documents also revealed that 258 individuals were offloaded on the basis of being underage, while 24 people were stopped after attempting to travel abroad on visit visas for employment purposes.
According to the FIA, the immigration system is being further strengthened to prevent human trafficking, illegal immigration, and attempts to travel abroad through fraudulent documentation. The agency stated that effective measures are being taken to ensure a secure and transparent immigration process.
