Government Should Introduce Effective Policies to Promote Local Manufacturing and Ensure Quality Production

Islamabad (News Reporter): President of the Islamabad Tyres Association (ITA), Riaz Khan, has said that Pakistan’s local tyre industry has the potential to play a significant role in the country’s economy, employment generation, and industrial development. However, he stressed that a comprehensive strategy is urgently needed to address the challenges facing the sector and ensure its sustainable growth.

He said that the government should introduce policies aimed at encouraging local tyre manufacturers by promoting investment, reducing production costs, and facilitating the adoption of modern technologies.

Riaz Khan also suggested that import duties and taxes on raw materials should be reviewed to enable the domestic tyre industry to compete more effectively in the international market.

He stated that investment in research and development (R&D), the training of skilled manpower, and the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies would help bring Pakistan’s tyre industry in line with international standards.

He further emphasized that special incentives to boost exports, easier access to financing, and an uninterrupted supply of energy are also essential for the growth and competitiveness of the local tyre industry.
