Five operations conducted in Rawalpindi, Lahore and Quetta; ice and LSD also recovered from parcels being sent abroad and received from overseas

Islamabad (Asif Malik): The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its crackdown against drug smuggling in various cities across the country, conducting five separate operations in which 37.84 kilograms of drugs were recovered and six suspects were arrested. The value of the recovered drugs has been estimated at more than Rs. 13.7 million.

According to an ANF spokesperson, during a search of a parcel being sent to Saudi Arabia at a courier office in Rawalpindi, 340 grams of ice was recovered after being skillfully concealed inside shoes.

In another operation at a courier office in Rawalpindi, 90 grams of ice and 10 LSD papers were recovered from a parcel arriving from the Netherlands.

The spokesperson said that during an operation near Bahria Town, Rawalpindi, a suspect was arrested and 24.1 kilograms of ice was recovered from his possession. The drug had been concealed inside a honey jar.

During an operation near Murghazar Colony in Lahore, two suspects were arrested and 8.4 kilograms of hashish was recovered from their possession.

Meanwhile, during a search of a vehicle near Baleli, Quetta district, 5 kilograms of heroin was recovered and three suspects were arrested.

According to the ANF spokesperson, cases have been registered against all the suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act, 1997, while further investigations are underway.
