*The Quran is not just a book of recitation; it must be understood and implemented in life, says Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Shah*

Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Shah stated that the Holy Quran is not merely a book for recitation, but it is essential to understand it, reflect upon it, and seek guidance from it in every aspect of life. A strong connection with the Quran is the key to individual reform and societal improvement.

A weekly gathering for the remembrance and Quranic lessons was held at the Islamic Education Institute on Sir Syed Avenue, where the chief patron, Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Shah, delivered a special address, while Allama Hafiz Sheikh Muhammad Qasim served as the host. Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Shah emphasized that the Quran is not just a book for recitation but needs to be understood, contemplated, and implemented in life. The Quran teaches humility, tolerance, good morals, peace, love, and tolerance, and therefore, despite differences, one should not abandon politeness and patience. He stated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) guided humanity from the darkness of ignorance to the path of knowledge, monotheism, ethics, justice, and service to humanity. A person’s true identity is defined by faith, the Quran, the Sunnah, and character. He regarded love for the Ahl al-Bayt as an essential part of faith and belief, stating that the character of Hazrat Ali, Hazrat Hasan, Hazrat Hussain, and the Ahl al-Bayt serves as a practical example of patience, courage, truthfulness, and steadfastness, while the event of Karbala provides a great lesson in the triumph of truth and sacrifice. He urged the youth and students to understand the Quran, reflect upon it, and incorporate its message into their character. At the end of the gathering, a special prayer was offered for the safety and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah, the country, and the moral and religious upbringing of the younger generation.
