During an intelligence-based operation on Shikarpur Road in Sukkur, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) foiled a major attempt to smuggle drugs from Balochistan to Sindh using an ambulance, seizing 49 kilograms 400 grams of drugs and arresting a key member of the inter-provincial drug smuggling gang.

Sukkur (Salahuddin Qureshi) According to the ANF spokesperson, during the operation, 36 kilograms of hashish and 13 kilograms 400 grams of ice were discovered skillfully hidden in the secret compartments of the ambulance. The arrested suspect has been identified as Liaquat Ali, a resident of Shikarpur. Initial reports indicate that the drugs were being smuggled from Balochistan to Sindh. The spokesperson stated that the ANF’s intelligence network had received information that drug traffickers were attempting to transport a large shipment of drugs from Balochistan to Sindh under the guise of an ambulance, prompting continuous surveillance and a strategic operation. As a result of the operation, the drug smuggling attempt was thwarted, and a case has been registered against the arrested suspect under the Anti-Narcotics Act, with further investigations ongoing. The ANF spokesperson emphasized that using an ambulance, a vehicle designated for humanitarian services, for drug smuggling is not only a serious criminal act but also undermines the legitimate use of ambulances in emergencies. He stated that this recent operation reflects the ANF’s unwavering commitment against drug smuggling and that operations will continue indiscriminately under the mission to rid the country of drugs.
