Rawalpindi’s Devotees of the Prophet Have Lost a Spiritual Mentor: Professor Abrar Ahmed Khan

ISLAMABAD (City Reporter): Religious, educational, and social circles have expressed deep grief and condolences over the passing of the renowned religious and scholarly figure, founder and head of Jamia Rizvia Zia-ul-Uloom Rawalpindi, and Patron-in-Chief of Tanzeem-ul-Madaris Ahl-e-Sunnat Pakistan, Ustaz-ul-Asatiza Hazrat Allama Pir Syed Hussain-ud-Din Shah (RA).

In a joint condolence statement, Patron-in-Chief of the Institute of Islamic Teachings Pakistan Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Shah, Central Senior Deputy Nazim of Jamaat Ahl-e-Sunnat Pakistan Professor Hamza Mustafa’i, and Provincial President of the All Pakistan Private Schools Association Professor Abrar Ahmed Khan described the passing of Hazrat Shah Sahib as an irreparable scholarly, spiritual, and religious loss for Pakistan and the Muslim world.

Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Shah said that Allama Pir Syed Hussain-ud-Din Shah was among the last remaining links to the great scholars and spiritual elders of the past.

He said Hazrat Shah Sahib had kept alive the values of knowledge and practice, piety, sincerity, love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and the intellectual tradition of Ahl-e-Sunnat. Thousands of scholars and spiritual leaders and millions of ordinary people benefited from his teachings and guidance.

He described Hazrat Shah Sahib as a strong symbol of unity among Ahl-e-Sunnat, mutual brotherhood, and religious and national solidarity.

“With his passing, Ahl-e-Sunnat has been deprived of a great scholarly and spiritual mentor,” he said.

Professor Hamza Mustafa’i said the passing of Sheikh-ul-Hadith wal-Tafsir Hazrat Allama Pir Syed Hussain-ud-Din Shah marked the end of a great era of scholarship and spiritual guidance.

He said that for more than 75 years, Hazrat Shah Sahib had devoted himself to teaching the Quran and the traditions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), illuminating countless lives with knowledge and wisdom.

His scholarly, religious, reformative, and spiritual services, he said, extended far beyond one institution or city and reached across Pakistan and the wider Muslim world.

Professor Hamza Mustafa’i noted that Hazrat Shah Sahib had also served for a long period as Chairman of the Sunni Supreme Council of Jamaat Ahl-e-Sunnat Pakistan, and his services for promoting unity among Ahl-e-Sunnat would always be remembered.

Professor Abrar Ahmed Khan said that with the passing of Ustaz-ul-Asatiza Hazrat Allama Pir Syed Hussain-ud-Din Shah, the devotees of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in Rawalpindi had been left without a spiritual father figure.

He said Hazrat Shah Sahib devoted his entire life to religious education, social reform, moral training of the younger generation, and promoting love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Thousands of people benefited from his affection, scholarly guidance, and spiritual mentorship, he said, adding that his death had created a void that would not be easy to fill.

The leaders said in their joint statement that the more than seven decades of religious, scholarly, and reformative services of Pir Syed Hussain-ud-Din Shah constituted a valuable legacy for the Muslim Ummah.

They said he dedicated his life to promoting and disseminating Islamic knowledge, advocating the implementation of the system of the Prophet (PBUH), safeguarding the honour and status of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and protecting the belief in the Finality of Prophethood.

Under his leadership and patronage, thousands of religious scholars and spiritual leaders received education and training. His presence served as a prominent centre for unity among Ahl-e-Sunnat and mutual brotherhood in the country.

The condolence statement further said that Hazrat Shah Sahib not only nurtured religious scholarship through Jamia Rizvia Zia-ul-Uloom and Tanzeem-ul-Madaris, but also played a historic role at the national level in promoting religious and modern education, social reform, and the moral development of the younger generation.

The leaders said his passing was not merely the death of an individual but the departure of an entire scholarly and intellectual era, leaving behind a void that would remain difficult to fill for a long time.

Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Shah, Professor Hamza Mustafa’i, and Professor Abrar Ahmed Khan expressed their heartfelt condolences to Hazrat Shah Sahib’s sons, family members, students, disciples, and all those mourning his death.

They prayed:

“May Allah Almighty grant Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Hadith Allama Pir Syed Hussain-ud-Din Shah an exalted rank and place in His mercy, accept his religious and scholarly services, allow his spiritual legacy to continue forever, and grant patience and strength to all his relatives, students, disciples, and mourners. Ameen.”
