Islamabad (Asif Malik) The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested seven suspects during a crackdown against drug smuggling around educational institutions and in various cities across the country. In seven operations, the ANF seized over 78.74 kilograms of drugs worth more than 8.2 million Pakistani Rupees. According to an ANF spokesperson, during an operation near a university in Islamabad, 600 grams of ice and 600 grams of heroin were recovered from a suspect, who confessed to selling drugs to students. The spokesperson added that 12 kilograms of hashish were seized from a vehicle near Balakot Road in Mansehra, leading to the arrest of another suspect. At a toll plaza near Islamabad, 36 kilograms of hashish, 4.8 kilograms of opium, and 4 kilograms of ice were recovered from a truck, resulting in the arrest of the driver. In an operation near Jamshoro toll plaza, 6.09 kilograms of ice concealed in clothing were seized from a suspect. Near Kala Shah Kaku toll plaza in Sheikhupura, 3.6 kilograms of hashish and 200 grams of ice were recovered from a vehicle. In an operation near Dadu Canal Sukkur, 10.7 kilograms of cannabis were seized, while 150 grams of heroin packed in four capsules were recovered from a suspect near M-1 Link Road in Rawalpindi. The ANF spokesperson stated that cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act of 1997, and investigations have commenced.
