135.9kg of Narcotics Worth Over Rs291 Million Recovered in Seven Operations; Suspect Selling Ice to Students Also Arrested

ISLAMABAD (By Asif Malik): The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has launched a crackdown against drug trafficking around educational institutions and in various cities across the country, arresting five suspects during seven separate operations.

According to the ANF spokesperson, a total of 135.9 kilograms of narcotics, worth more than Rs291 million, were recovered during the operations.

In an operation in Malir, Karachi, 110 grams of ice (crystal methamphetamine) were recovered from the possession of a suspect. During interrogation, the arrested suspect allegedly confessed to selling drugs to students at educational institutions.

In Rawalpindi, ANF officials searched a parcel destined for Saudi Arabia at a courier office and recovered 29.36 kilograms of ice concealed by absorbing it into plastic sheets hidden inside LED lights.

In another operation at the same courier office, 30 grams of weed were recovered from a parcel arriving from the United Kingdom.

Near Daska Road in Sialkot, 48 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a motorcyclist.

In another operation on Daska Road, ANF officials recovered 15 kilograms of ice and 8.4 kilograms of heroin from another motorcyclist.

Near Thakot in Battagram district, authorities recovered 18 kilograms of hashish during a search of a truck and arrested a suspect.

In Quetta, an operation near the bus terminal on Sariab Road led to the recovery of 17 kilograms of hashish concealed inside spray machines. A suspect was arrested in connection with the seizure.

According to the ANF spokesperson, cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway.
