FIA Immigration Action; Forensic Examination of Mobile Phones Reveals Contacts with Human Trafficking Network; Passengers Handed Over to Anti-Human Trafficking Circle

ISLAMABAD (Asif Malik): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration at Islamabad Airport foiled an attempt by four passengers to travel to Europe by using Saudi Arabia as a transit point under the cover of Umrah visas and offloaded them.

The action was taken today, July 20, during secondary profiling before the passengers were scheduled to depart for Saudi Arabia on Fly Jinnah flight No. 9P700.

According to the FIA, a detailed examination of the travel documents revealed that one of the passengers had previously been deported from Türkiye for illegal entry. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan visit visas were also recovered from two passengers, further strengthening suspicions of illegal migration.

According to the spokesperson, forensic examination of the passengers’ mobile phones revealed that two of them were taking their mother to Saudi Arabia under the pretext of performing Umrah. Their alleged plan was to send their mother back to Pakistan from there and themselves travel illegally to Europe via the Baku-Serbia route.

Chat records obtained during the investigation also revealed that the suspects were in continuous contact with agents of a human trafficking network. The presence of Azerbaijan visit visas further strengthened the suspicion of their alleged links.

After offloading all four passengers, the FIA handed them over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Islamabad for further legal action, where further investigation into the incident is underway.
