


Rawalpindi (Shah Rukh Khan/Tehsil Reporter): On the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi, Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani, a Caravan of Peace comprising Rawalpindi Police officials and prominent religious scholars from various schools of thought arrived in Taxila to promote interfaith harmony and ensure peaceful observance of Muharram-ul-Haram.
The Caravan of Peace included SDPO Taxila, SHOs of the circle, and other police officers, along with renowned religious scholars and community leaders including Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal Rizvi, Khalid Mehmood Abbasi, Abdul Majeed Qadri, Qasim Ali Naqvi, Sahibzada Usman Ghani, Allama Asghar Babar, Qazi Junaid Rashid, Aoun Abbas Kazmi, Atiq-ur-Rehman Shah, Maulana Shoaib Siddiq, and other notable personalities.
A meeting was held at Jamia Masjid Madani, Laiq Ali Chowk, to discuss measures for maintaining law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram. Speakers on the occasion stated that the objective of the Caravan of Peace is to promote the message of brotherhood, love, harmony, and tolerance, which, as in previous years, will continue to be advanced effectively this year as well.
Religious scholars reaffirmed their commitment to playing an even more active and responsible role in maintaining peace and order during Muharram-ul-Haram. They emphasized that all segments of society should continue working together to establish and preserve exemplary peace within the community.
Speaking at the meeting, the SDPO Taxila welcomed the gathering of scholars from different schools of thought and expressed confidence that, with their cooperation, a peaceful environment would be ensured throughout Muharram-ul-Haram.
Participants also stressed the importance of strict adherence to the code of conduct and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), while ensuring foolproof security arrangements for all religious activities.
The meeting concluded with special prayers for the peace, security, stability, and prosperity of the country and the nation.
