Over 1,500 Police Personnel Deployed; Three-Tier Security and Monitoring System Implemented for Processions and Majalis

Daud Khel (Zia Niazi):

On the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Mianwali Waqar Azeem Kharl, comprehensive, effective, and foolproof security arrangements have been made across the district on the occasion of 20th Safar-ul-Muzaffar, Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA) to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for mourners.

According to police officials, a total of seven processions were held across the district, including three Category-A and four Category-C processions, while 15 Majalis were organized, including three Category-B and 12 Category-C gatherings.

More than 1,500 police officers and personnel were deployed for the security of the processions and Majalis. In addition, over 250 volunteers provided by the local administration and organizers are assisting police personnel in security and checking duties.

A three-layer security and checking system has been implemented to ensure the protection of participants. Comprehensive checking and monitoring arrangements are in place at all entry and exit points of the processions.

Elite Force personnel, Dolphin Squad teams, district police officials, and other security personnel are continuously patrolling and performing duties around the processions and Majalis to respond promptly to any untoward situation.

Snipers have been deployed at sensitive locations and high-rise buildings along the procession routes, while all processions and gatherings are being continuously monitored through Safe City cameras and CCTV cameras installed by the district administration.

Police Control Room and Deputy Commissioner Office Control Room have been fully activated to monitor the situation round the clock and ensure immediate coordination. Officers are performing duties at both control rooms on a 24-hour basis.

DPO Mianwali Waqar Azeem Kharl stated that all circle officers, SDPOs, and SHOs are personally present in the field and supervising security arrangements. He said that all officers and personnel would remain on duty until the peaceful conclusion of Chehlum processions and Majalis.

He further stated that strict monitoring of anti-social and law-breaking elements is being maintained to preserve peace and order in the district. He added that strict legal action would be taken against anyone involved in activities aimed at disturbing peace and security, without any discrimination.
