Deaths of Woman and Three Children Reported in Valencia Town; Police Await Forensic, Toxicology and Post-Mortem Reports, Saying It Is Too Early to Reach a Final Conclusion

LAHORE (Bureau Report): Four members of a family that had recently moved to Pakistan from the United States died under mysterious circumstances in Lahore’s Valencia Town, while the head of the family, Nasir Dogar, remained safe. Police have launched an investigation into the incident from various angles and said that the actual cause of the deaths will be determined only after forensic, toxicology and post-mortem reports are received.

According to police, the affected family had arrived in Pakistan from the United States approximately 15 days ago and had taken up residence in Valencia Town. At the time of the incident, Nasir Dogar had gone out of the house to buy groceries, while his wife and three children were present at home.

When police and rescue teams reached the scene after receiving information, the bodies of three children were recovered from the rear courtyard of the house, while their mother was found in critical condition. She was immediately shifted to a hospital; however, she died on the way.

Police said that, based on initial evidence, the possibility of the use of a poisonous substance is being considered. However, reaching any final conclusion at this stage would be premature. According to officials, the actual cause of the deaths can only be determined after the forensic and toxicology reports are received.

During the investigation, police also recorded the statement of the head of the family, Nasir Dogar. According to him, his wife had been suffering from mental stress and psychological problems for the past three years and had stopped taking her medication approximately six months ago.

Nasir Dogar stated that when he returned home after buying groceries, his wife told him that the children had gone to watch a movie and also offered him ice cream. Some time later, neighbours informed him that the children were lying in the rear courtyard of the house. Upon reaching there, he found all three children dead. Meanwhile, his wife’s condition also deteriorated, and she later passed away.

Police clarified that the concern expressed by the father is merely a statement, which is being independently investigated. Its verification or rejection will be based solely on evidence and scientific reports.

According to investigating authorities, the incident is extremely sensitive and complex in nature. The investigation team has also contacted close relatives of the family as well as relatives residing in the United States and Canada to examine all possible aspects of the case.

Police said that a domestic worker at the house was the first to see the bodies of the children in the rear courtyard and informed the neighbours. The forensic team has collected evidence from the crime scene, while a detailed examination of the bodies is also underway.

Police said that the actual facts of the incident will be presented before the public only after the investigation is completed and all forensic, toxicology and post-mortem reports are received. Therefore, it would not be appropriate at this stage to draw any final conclusion regarding the cause of the deaths or responsibility for the incident.
