Inspects Immigration Counters, Orders All Counters to Remain Open, Directs Officials Not to Allow Travel on Incomplete Documents

LAHORE (Bureau Report): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi made a surprise visit to Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore and reviewed the immigration process for passengers.

The Interior Minister inspected the immigration counters and asked the staff about the time being taken to complete the immigration process. He also spoke with passengers and inquired about the facilities available to them and their waiting time at immigration.

The passengers informed the minister that the immigration process was taking approximately 30 minutes and requested further improvements in the arrangements.

Assuring the passengers that the immigration process would be further expedited, Mohsin Naqvi took immediate action and ordered that all immigration counters at the airport remain operational to speed up the process.

He said that keeping additional counters open would help reduce delays in immigration and provide greater convenience to passengers.

During the visit, a passenger complained that an agent had taken money from him. Taking immediate notice of the complaint, the Interior Minister directed that the matter be handed over to the FIA Director and ordered the arrest of the concerned agent.

Mohsin Naqvi directed FIA officials not to allow anyone with incomplete travel documents to travel under any circumstances. However, he emphasized that passengers carrying complete travel documents should not be stopped from travelling without any valid reason.

The Interior Minister said that the use of modern technology has made the immigration process easier, while action against individuals travelling on fake documents is being further intensified.
