ABBOTTABAD (BBC Report): Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hamid visited Mansehra district. Upon his arrival at Mansehra Police Lines, a smartly turned-out contingent of Mansehra Police presented him with a guard of honour.
He inaugurated several important projects related to public facilitation and the welfare of police personnel. DIG Hazara Nasir Mahmood Satti, DPO Mansehra Muhammad Azhar Khan, and other senior police officers were also present on the occasion.
During the visit, the KP IGP formally inaugurated modern Police Facilitation Centres equipped with various facilities in Balakot and Oghi. He also inspected different counters and reviewed in detail the services, facilities, and systems being provided to citizens.
On the occasion, IGP Zulfiqar Hamid said that the establishment of Police Facilitation Centres was an important part of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police’s public-friendly vision. The objective was to free citizens from traditional bureaucratic procedures and provide transparent, timely, dignified, and modern police services under one roof.
He directed staff to treat every citizen visiting the facilitation centres with courtesy, dignity, respect, and professionalism so that the bond of trust between the police and the public could be further strengthened.
It is pertinent to mention that the Police Facilitation Centres will provide citizens with multiple services under one roof, including character certificates for domestic and international purposes, police clearance certificates, tenant registration (TIF), Foreigners Desk services, reports of lost documents, general police assistance, guidance, and other public services.
The objective of these centres is to free citizens from unnecessary visits to different offices and make the process of service delivery easier, faster, and more transparent.
Later, the KP IGP also inaugurated a fully equipped mess hall established for the welfare of police personnel at Mansehra Police Lines. He conducted a detailed inspection of the mess hall, expressed satisfaction with the available facilities, and said that providing police personnel with a better working environment, quality food, and excellent facilities was essential for improving the morale, professional capabilities, and performance of the force.
IGP Zulfiqar Hamid said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police was giving equal importance to modern infrastructure, the effective use of technology, public-friendly policing, and the welfare of its personnel so that citizens could benefit from a reliable, effective, and modern policing system.
Appreciating the spirit of public service and performance of Mansehra Police, he said that the scope of Police Facilitation Centres was being further expanded across the province so that an increasing number of citizens could benefit from modern, transparent, and quality police services at all times.
Furthermore, the IGP also formally launched the monsoon tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling at the Police Lines. He emphasized the importance of maximum tree plantation for environmental protection, a greener Pakistan, and the benefit of future generations.
