TARBELA GHAZI (Correspondent): Prominent political and social figure Syed Akhtar Hussain Shah has welcomed the reported historic defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye, describing the unity of the three brotherly Muslim countries on defence and security matters as an important and commendable step toward greater unity among the Muslim Ummah.
In a statement, Syed Akhtar Hussain Shah said that defence cooperation among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye was a pressing need in view of the prevailing global situation. He said the agreement reflected the mutual trust between the three countries and would contribute to peace, stability, and collective defence in the region.
He said Field Marshal General Asim Munir had played an important and commendable role in strengthening Pakistan’s defence, national security, and strategic relations with brotherly Muslim countries. His leadership capabilities, professional insight, and forward-looking strategy had further strengthened Pakistan’s defence position at the international level, he added.
Syed Akhtar Hussain Shah said Pakistan’s brave armed forces and their leadership were fulfilling their responsibilities on every front to safeguard the country’s defence and security. The growing defence cooperation among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye was clear evidence that Muslim countries could play an effective role in promoting regional peace and stability through mutual unity and solidarity, he said.
He described Saudi Arabia as Pakistan’s brotherly and longstanding friend, while Turkiye was also a trusted brotherly country. The three nations share historic, religious, and fraternal ties, he said, adding that the reported defence agreement would further strengthen these relations and take them to new heights.
Syed Akhtar Hussain Shah appreciated the efforts of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the military leadership, saying that the entire nation stood shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces in protecting Pakistan’s security, sovereignty, and national interests.
He said Pakistan, as a strong and responsible country, would continue to play a positive role in promoting peace in the region.
He further said that the need of the hour was for Muslim countries to set aside their differences and support one another for the sake of unity, brotherhood, and common interests.
The defence cooperation among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye, he said, sends a strong message of unity and solidarity to the Muslim Ummah.
