Police Martyrs Day Ceremony Held at Police Lines Mianwali, Tribute Paid to Martyrs

Mianwali (Zia Niazi): A dignified ceremony was organized at Police Lines Mianwali on the occasion of Police Martyrs Day. Deputy Commissioner Mianwali Shahid Abbas Kathia and District Police Officer (DPO) Waqar Azim Kharal visited the Martyrs’ Memorial, laid floral wreaths, and offered prayers for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs.

On the occasion, a well-disciplined police contingent presented a guard of honour to pay tribute to the martyrs. Later, a ceremony was held at the Police Lines lawn in honour of police martyrs and their families.

Deputy Commissioner Shahid Abbas Kathia attended the ceremony as the chief guest, while DPO Waqar Azim Kharal chaired the event. SP Investigation Mehr Riaz Naz, families of martyrs, police officers, and other personnel were also present.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Shahid Abbas Kathia said that the martyrs are the real heroes of the nation who sacrificed their lives while bravely confronting anti-state and criminal elements. He said that the armed forces, police, and other law enforcement agencies are performing their duties around the clock for the protection of the country and its people.

He added that police officers and personnel who continue to perform their duties day and night and risk their lives for public safety deserve immense appreciation and respect.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Waqar Azim Kharal paid tribute to the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the protection of citizens’ lives and property, establishment of peace, and honour of the country. He said that the martyrs of Punjab Police are a source of pride, an asset, and an honour for the department.

The DPO expressed respect and appreciation for all martyrs and their families. He also distributed cheques under the martyrs’ welfare package among the families of the deceased police personnel.

The ceremony concluded with a luncheon arranged in honour of the participants.
