MNA Malik Abrar attends results announcement ceremony as chief guest
Rawalpindi (Syed Shahid Waheed Hashmi): The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi has officially announced the results of the first annual Matriculation Examination 2026. According to the announced results, the overall pass percentage remained at 61.31%.
Female students once again outperformed male students, achieving a success rate of 70.18%, while the pass percentage among male students was recorded at 51.99%.
The results announcement ceremony was held at Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi, where Member of the National Assembly Malik Abrar Ahmed participated as the chief guest.
The ceremony was attended by Parliamentary Secretary for Information Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry, Members of the Provincial Assembly Asma Naz Abbasi and Rifat Abbasi, Chairman Rawalpindi Board Professor Dr. Iqbal Mahmood, Board Secretary Professor Amjad Iqbal Khattak, Controller of Examinations Tanveer Asghar Awan, position-holding students, their parents, teachers and other distinguished guests.
At the beginning of the ceremony, students who secured prominent positions were presented with a guard of honour.
A total of 120,411 candidates appeared in the first annual Matriculation Examination 2026. Muhammad Manaan Ehtisham secured first position by obtaining 1,191 marks, Zoneera Tahir stood second with 1,180 marks, while Muhammad Faseeh Abdullah secured third position with 1,178 marks.
Later, the chief guest distributed prizes and certificates among the position holders.
Addressing the ceremony, Malik Abrar Ahmed congratulated the successful students, parents and teachers. He said that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, reforms in the education sector were continuing.
He said that initiatives such as the Honhaar Scholarship, Laptop Scheme and other programmes were playing an important role in providing better educational opportunities to young people, while merit and transparency remained the government’s top priorities.
Parliamentary Secretary for Information Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry congratulated the Rawalpindi Board administration for conducting examinations transparently and announcing results on time. He said the Punjab government was taking effective measures to promote modern technology, merit and transparency.
He said position holders and successful students were the valuable assets and bright future of the country.
Chairman Rawalpindi Board Professor Dr. Iqbal Mahmood said that in accordance with the vision of the Punjab Chief Minister, the board was taking practical steps to promote merit, transparency and higher educational standards. He said education was the foundation of progress, prosperity and national stability.
Controller of Examinations Tanveer Asghar Awan said that a zero-tolerance policy was strictly implemented during the examinations, ensuring that the examination process was completed in a completely transparent, fair and organised manner. He added that transparency was the identity and foundation of public trust in the Rawalpindi Board.
