RDA Conducts Major Operation Against Illegal Constructions in The Avenue One and Mumtaz City Housing Schemes

Eight Illegal Residential Buildings, Two Commercial Buildings, and J7 Icon Multi-Storey Building Sealed

Rawalpindi (News Reporter): The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), following the directives of the competent authority, carried out a major enforcement operation against illegal constructions, unauthorized development activities, and violations of building regulations in The Avenue One and Mumtaz City Housing Schemes.

During the operation, the RDA Enforcement Squad took action against illegal constructions under the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976, RDA Building and Zoning Regulations, and other relevant laws.

As part of the operation, eight illegal residential buildings, two illegal commercial buildings, and the J7 Icon (J7-Icon) multi-storey building were sealed.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Director Planning Muhammad Dawood. Building Inspector Shafiq-ur-Rehman and officials from the RDA Enforcement Squad also participated in the operation.

An RDA spokesperson stated that such actions against illegal constructions, unauthorized development activities, and violations of building laws will continue on a regular basis to promote planned urban development and protect the interests of citizens, property owners, and investors.

The spokesperson said that the RDA is committed to ensuring that all construction and development activities are carried out strictly according to approved maps and applicable laws.

He further stated that the RDA is strictly implementing the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations. Any kind of illegal construction or unauthorized development will not be tolerated, and legal action against violators will continue without discrimination.

The spokesperson also appealed to the public to verify the legal status and approval of any housing scheme or construction project from the RDA before making investments. Citizens were also advised to immediately report illegal constructions and unauthorized development activities to the RDA so that timely action can be taken in accordance with the law.
