Preparations Underway for Major Operation in Tikka Colony and Ibrahim Villas; Registration of Cases Proposed

Citizens Demand Action Not Only Against House Owners but Also Against Those Who Sold the Land

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has started preparations for renewed action against illegal constructions established over stormwater drains in Tikka Colony and Ibrahim Villas.

According to sources, some responsible officials of the RDA have prepared a comprehensive action plan in this regard, under which strict legal action, including registration of cases against owners of illegal constructions, has been proposed.

The move comes amid growing public concern over encroachments and unauthorized constructions on stormwater drains. Citizens have demanded that action should not be limited to house owners alone but should also be taken against individuals who sold the land illegally.

Residents have also raised concerns that houses sealed during previous operations were allegedly reopened later through possible collusion. They have demanded that Commissioner and Director General RDA Salman Ghani ensure the recovery of government land and restoration of stormwater drains.

Citizens questioned whether the RDA’s latest initiative would only result in registration of cases or whether the authority would take practical steps to completely reclaim the occupied land and restore the natural drainage system.

The upcoming operation in Tikka Colony and Ibrahim Villas is being viewed as an important test of the authority’s commitment to eliminating encroachments and protecting public land.
