Work on Kashmir Chowk and Faisal Mosque Underpass Projects to Begin Next Month

Interior Minister Expresses Concern Over Delay in Establishing Emergency 1122 System in Islamabad; Directs Immediate Activation of Capital Emergency Services

A meeting was held at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters under the chairmanship of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, during which a detailed review of ongoing and upcoming development projects in Islamabad was conducted.

Speaking during the meeting, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that two new underpasses would be constructed in Islamabad to facilitate citizens and improve traffic flow. He announced that work on the Kashmir Chowk Underpass and Faisal Mosque Underpass projects would begin next month.

The Interior Minister expressed serious concern over the absence of a fully operational Emergency 1122 system in Islamabad and directed authorities to take emergency measures to make Capital Emergency Services a fully functional institution at the earliest.

He further instructed that after completing all legal requirements, work on the four new centers of Capital Emergency Services should be started as soon as possible.

The meeting also discussed various proposals aimed at increasing CDA’s permanent sources of revenue. Mohsin Naqvi directed officials to develop a sustainable revenue model to achieve financial self-reliance, emphasizing that financial stability of the institution is equally important alongside development projects.

He instructed authorities to ensure early progress on feasible revenue-generating projects.

Mohsin Naqvi stressed that the Expressway Service Road Project must be completed within the stipulated timeline under all circumstances.

During the meeting, officials provided a detailed briefing on progress regarding various mega projects in Islamabad and future development planning.
