Additional District and Sessions Judge Afsha Ejaz Soofi Announces Verdict; Three Convicts Taken into Custody in Courtroom Following Sentencing
Rawalpindi (Izhar Khan Niazi): Additional District and Sessions Judge Afsha Ejaz Soofi has announced the verdict in the Majid Satti murder case, registered at Sadiqabad Police Station, sentencing Farrukh Khokhar and two other convicts to life imprisonment after finding them guilty. Another accused, Wasim, was acquitted after the court extended him the benefit of the doubt.
Immediately after the verdict was announced, the three convicted individuals, including Farrukh Khokhar, were taken into custody inside the courtroom. Farrukh Khokhar had been out on bail during the trial, while the other two convicts were produced before the court from prison.
A large number of the deceased Majid Satti’s family members and relatives were present at the Judicial Complex when the verdict was announced. Supporters of Farrukh Khokhar and the other accused also gathered at the premises.
Extraordinary security arrangements were put in place at the Judicial Complex to prevent any untoward incident. The entry of armed individuals and vehicles into the court premises was prohibited, while all visitors were subjected to thorough security screening.
The court delivered its judgment after concluding the trial. The murder case of Majid Satti was registered at Sadiqabad Police Station on August 8, 2022, and had remained under trial for the past several years.
