Grateful to the government for abolishing all types of trade licences in Islamabad, says Ajmal Baloch; Golra Station Road issues will be resolved on a priority basis, says Sanaullah Kharl
Islamabad (News Reporter): The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected office-bearers of the Golra Station Road Traders Association was held in Islamabad. Member of the National Assembly Anjum Aqeel Khan was the chief guest, while Ajmal Baloch, President of the All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran and Traders Action Committee Islamabad, administered the oath to the newly elected office-bearers.
Those who took the oath included President Sanaullah Kharl, Vice President Asim Mughal, General Secretary Haroon Mew, Senior Vice President Faryad Butt, Joint Secretary Shoaib Saifi, Finance Secretary Shahzad Mughal, Press Secretary Akram Bhatti, Information Secretary Rana Tahir and Coordinator Malik Zafar.
On the occasion, MNA Anjum Aqeel Khan congratulated the newly elected office-bearers and said that, as the Member of the National Assembly representing the constituency, he was working day and night to resolve the problems faced by the business community. He said his doors were always open to traders and that the construction of Golra Station Road would be completed on a priority basis.
Ajmal Baloch, President of the All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran and Traders Action Committee Islamabad, congratulated the newly elected office-bearers and said that assuming an office was easy, but maintaining the spirit of service was the real test. He said the government had abolished the system of all types of trade licences in the federal capital, Islamabad, and a notification to this effect had been issued by DMA Director Dr. Anum Fatima. He appealed to Chief Commissioner ICT Lieutenant (Retired) Sohail Ashraf to also immediately issue notifications abolishing the professional tax imposed by the Islamabad Food Authority and Excise and Taxation Department so that the government’s decision could be fully implemented.
Ajmal Baloch further said that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) had introduced an easy tax scheme in consultation with traders’ organisations and urged the business community to take full advantage of it.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Irfan Chaudhry said that mutual unity was essential for resolving traders’ problems. He urged traders to fully support the collective decisions of their organisations and unions.
Traders Action Committee Islamabad Secretary Khalid Chaudhry and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Executive Member Chaudhry Aftab Gujjar also addressed the ceremony. They congratulated the newly elected office-bearers and stressed the need for unity and joint efforts among the business community.
