Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif Gifts Green Buses to the People of Murree, Inaugurates Electric Green Bus Service

Murree (Raja Usman Ali): Under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the modern and environmentally friendly Electric Green Bus Service has been officially inaugurated in Murree. The inauguration was performed by Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Raja Usama Sarwar. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi, District Police Officer Dr. Raza Tanveer Sapra, Chief Traffic Officer Munir Hashmi, political and social figures, and a large number of citizens.

Addressing the ceremony online, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that she had fulfilled the promise made to the people of Murree. She stated that Murree is one of the country’s major tourist destinations, where both tourists and local residents have long faced transportation difficulties. Therefore, the Punjab Government has launched the environmentally friendly Electric Green Bus Service, adding that more buses will be included in the project in the future.

The launch of the Green Bus Service will provide residents and tourists with safe, comfortable, dignified, and high-quality public transportation. The project is expected to facilitate the daily commute of thousands of people while helping reduce traffic congestion and significantly lowering environmental pollution.

During the ceremony, it was announced that the fare for the Green Bus Service has been fixed at Rs. 30, enabling people from all walks of life to benefit from a modern public transport system at an affordable cost.

Citizens and members of various social circles welcomed the initiative of the Punjab Chief Minister, describing it as a valuable gift for Murree. They said the project would benefit both the local population and tourists by providing access to a modern and efficient transportation service.
